School Options ↑
In School Options, the Primary ADA Time and Secondary ADA Time is used to accommodate taking attendance in AM and PM classes. The Primary ADA Time should be assigned a time that falls within the Flex period for the AM class. The Secondary ADA Time should be assigned a time that falls within the Flex period for the PM class and should not overlap with the AM flex period. For more information on Attendance Management, see Attendance Time All Day Management.
For example:
Flex Periods should be created for the Kinder AM and Kinder PM classes. In this example, KAM period starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. KPM period starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM.
The Primary ADA Time is set for 9:00 AM which falls in the KAM period but does not overlap with the KPM period. The Secondary ADA Time is set for 1:00 PM and falls within the KPM period but does not overlap with the KAM period.
Portal Options ↑
For flex schools, it is necessary to have the Attendance to be Taken (Marked as Complete) by Section option enabled. This option is used in flex schools since the CAS records are linked to MST by Section number instead of Teacher number. In order for the Attendance Submission Log to display correctly in Flex schools, this setting must be enabled. The Require clicking the "Attendance Complete" button to Complete taking attendance is available and can be used but is not required. See Portal Options-Attendance for more details.
Teacher Attendance ↑
When the teacher logs into their attendance page, each period will be listed separately and attendance will be taken independently of each other. Attendance can also be taken from the Attendance by Photo page.
When logged in as a teacher, navigate to Attendance. The class attendance page will default to display the current date and the current period the teacher is expected to take attendance in. As attendance is taken, a green message will indicate the
Mass Apply ↑
Attendance can be taken individually or using Mass Apply options.
- Mass Apply - When teachers have been given the Mass Apply permissions, this section will display with filter options:
- All Class Values - When teachers have multiple sections in the same period, these class sections will display under "All Class Values" and can be used in Mass Apply options.
- All Grade Values - Teacher can mass apply attendance and/or notes according to grade levels
- All Language Fluency Values - Teachers can mass apply attendance and/or notes according to language fluencies.
- All Programs - Teachers can mass apply attendance and/or notes according Program codes.
- Other categories according to portal options - Additional information will display based on defined data under Student Fields on Attendance Screen from the Portal Options.
- Mass Apply Quick Notes can be set up so teachers can mass apply notes to multiple students at a time. See Attendance Notes for details.
Attendance Submission Log/Report ↑
The Attendance Submission Log will display a list of teachers showing the status of their attendance submissions. The option Show Only Missing Attendance Submissions when selected will print only teachers with missing attendance. When un-selecting this option, the list will include teachers with their submission date timestamp. The page can be filtered for specific date ranges and can be printed in a report.
The information from this page is generated based on data in the CAS table. In flex schools, it is required to use the portal option Attendance to be Taken (Marked as Complete) by Section. When this option is enabled, the CAS table is updated by section as attendance is submitted in Classroom Attendance.
Tables ↑
The following tables are used in Attendance.
Table | Field | Description |
Attendance (ATT) | All Day Code (AL) | Attendance for Flex / Daily schools will be inserted into the ATT.AL field. |
