Your Course Catalog lists every managed course name that a class section can have, and exists across years and terms. It allows you to specify an external ID, # of credits, and course name that stays consistent for students over time.
Before you can create a managed class section, you must create a course catalog entry including the name of the class. This helps keep class names consistent over time and improves reporting and validation of mastery and planning data.
To create a course catalog entry, go to Setup > Schedule > Course Catalog and click Create New Course. To edit, or delete, select Edit from the menu to the right of the course catalog item you wish to edit or delete.
- Code (required): must be an alpha-numeric value 20 characters or fewer with no spaces.
- Name (required): must be alpha-numeric value 50 characters or ewer with no special characters.
- Credits: optional numeric credit value associated with the course for use in reporting.
- Advisory: if applicable, you can indicate which course(s) are advisory courses which can enable Auto Align Advisory in Student Bulk Actions.
You can bulk import course catalog records via the advanced menu, one school at a time as selected prior to uploading the CSV file. You must include a code, and if the code matches and existing code at the selected school the record will be ignored (this import is insert only). If duplicate code values are included in the same import file for the same school, only the last one will be used.
