How does rollover determine a student's next school?

Destination school depends on the student's enrollment status — active, inactive, or pre-enrolled.

NOTE: The placements below assume the student's next grade is valid for the next school.

Active Students

  • Current school — student returning to the same school
  • Next school — student moving to a different school within the district
  • Inactive school — student leaving the district

Inactive Students

  • Inactive students not active or pre-enrolled at another school roll to the Inactive school, regardless of the Next Schl field

Pre-Enrolled Students

  • Pre-enrolled students roll into the school where the pre-enrollment record was created
  • Enabling Copy Pre-Enrolled Students from This School to Their Next School on New Year Rollover sends them to the Next Schl value instead
NOTE: Copy Pre-Enrolled Students from This School to Their Next School is not recommended.
