Effective 2019/2020, six additional Course fields were added for CALPADS course submissions.

  • Content Sub Category (CRS.CSC)
  • Standards Grade Range (CRS.SGR)
  • Content Standards Alignment (CRS.CSA)
  • AP/IB Crs Code Cross Reference (CRS.ACC)
  • Middle School Core (CRS.MSC)  Yes/No
  • Charter Non-Core (CRS.CNC)  Yes/No

Update Course Table

To update the fields on a Course, run the following query at a High School and at a Middle School (to populate the Middle School Core (CRS.MSC) field).  Use the fields provided in the query to assist with populating the new Course fields.  


Run this LIST query first:


LIST CRS MST TCH MST.SE MST.CN CRS.CO CRS.C3 CRS.S1 CRS.S1? TCH.TE CRS.CSC CRS.SGR CRS.CSA CRS.ACC CRS.MSC CRS.CNC BY CRS.S1


After obtaining the LIST results, click the Change button.



In Change mode, lock the Course# (CRS.CN), Course Title (CRS.CO) , State Course Code CRS (CRS.C3), Subject Area 1 (CRS.S1), and Teacher Name (TCH.TE) fields.  


Update the Content Sub Category (CRS.CSC), Standards Grade Range (CRS.SGR), Content Standards Alignment (CRS.CSA), AP/IB Crs Code Cross Reference (CRS.ACC), Middle School Core (CRS.MSC), and Charter Non-Core (CRS.CNC) fields for each course accordingly.  Exit to Save the changes.




Note:  If the values on the Content Sub Category, Charter Non-Core, AP/IB Crs Code Cross Reference and/or Middle School Core on the Master Schedule Section (MST.SE) are the same as the values populated in the corresponding Course (CRS), then those fields do not need to be populated on the Master Schedule Section (MST.SE).


Update Master Schedule Sections

For schools using a Master Schedule (MST), each section may need the three newly added Course fields to be populated with the applicable information.  In addition, Middle Schools may need to also populate the Middle School Core (MST.MSC) field.

  • Content Sub Category (MST.CSC)
  • Charter Non-Core (MST.CNC)  Yes/No
  • AP/IB Crs Code Cross Reference (MST.ACC)
  • Middle School Core (MST.MSC)  

If the newly added fields on the Section (MST.SE) at a High School or Middle School need to be updated with a value that is different than what is populated on the Course (CRS), the following query includes the corresponding populated Course (CRS) fields which can be used to assist with populating the newly added Section fields.  


In addition, the Section has three new fields that must also be populated.  These fields are included these fields in the query so that districts can address all the changes at one time.  

  • Online Course Instruction Type (MST.OIT)
  • Local Assignment Option (MST.NCA)  
  • Highly Quality CTE Course (MST.HQC)


To view and populate the newly added fields, run this LIST query first:

After obtaining the LIST results, click the Change button.

Update the Content Sub Category (MST.CSC), AP/IB Crs Code Cross Reference (MST.ACC), Middle School Core (MST.MSC), Charter Non-Core (MST.CNC), Online Course Instruction Type (MST.OIT), Local Assignment Option (MST.NCA) and High Quality CTE Course (MST.HQC) fields for each course accordingly.  Exit to Save the changes.
