Course Plans provide a way for administrators to create sets of standards & assessments that teachers can use in their classes in the Plan tab. Course Plans can include just a set of expected standards, a few common assessments with their alignments, or an entire template for a class's curriculum.

Advantages of setting up Course Plans include:
- Quicker start for teachers, avoiding the need to dig through a large standards bank.
- Norming curriculum and assessment across classrooms.
- Communicating expectations (e.g. which standards are expected to be addressed in a given grade level and content area).
Here's what you need to know about Course Plans:
- Course Plans can be managed in the Admin module by any user with full privileges in a District Edition account.
- Course Plans belong to a specific Standard Bank. They can only include standards from that bank and will be accessible to teachers in schools that are associated with that Standard Bank given that the bank itself is 'Published'.
- Course Plans can have the following statuses:
- In Design: still in progress, admins can view and edit these plans but teachers cannot access them.
- Published: teachers can use them within their classes, and admins can still make changes to the original (note: once a teacher 'pulls in' a Course Plan into their Gradebook, administrative changes to the original Course Plan are not reflected in the teachers' copy).
- Archived: hidden from teachers and moved to a special archived view for admins, this provides a way to keep your active plans organized.
- Course Plans are associated with a content area and can contain a description to make it easier to stay organized.
- Course Plans let the admin use a special version of JumpRope's Plan tool to set up standards, units, and assessments in a similar fashion to how teachers plan.
- Course Plans are "pulled" into classes, not "pushed." In other words, to use a course plan's curriculum in their class, a teacher will:
- Access the Plan tab for their class
- Select Create => Standard from Bank
- Choose the Course Plans category
- Browse & select any or all of the standards & assessments organized by course plan.
- Once added to their class, the standards & assessments can be removed from the class by the teacher if desired.
- Changes made to the original Course Plan after a teacher adds curriculum to their class will not automatically be applied to the class. If a teacher wished to add new curriculum from a Course Plan that had already been added to their class, they can repeat the above process to include the new items.
