User is unable to save a Substitute Teacher account in the Security User Accounts (UGN) section on the Users page.

 

Resolution

To resolve the issue:

  1. Browser Autofill: Ensure that both the password and confirm password fields are manually entered and match. Avoid using autofill for passwords.
  2. Account Type Adjustment: If the substitute teacher is a long-term substitute, change the account type from “Substitute Teacher” to “Teacher” and assign a unique Staff ID. This allows the account to appear on the Staff page and be assigned to classes.
  3. UGN Record Setup: For short-term substitutes, create a UGN record using the Staff ID of the permanent teacher they are covering. This allows the substitute to access the same permissions and data as the teacher without needing a separate staff record.
  4. Group Assignment: Ensure the user is added to the appropriate portal group before attempting to save the record. If the “Set Group” icon is unresponsive, verify browser compatibility or try a different browser.
