The Civil Right Data Collection Algebra I counts are incorrect for COUR-4a, COUR-4b, COUR-8a, COUR-8b, COUR-9a and COUR-9b.

Items to Review

  • Check the Fall and Spring End Dates on the Civil Rights Data Collection page > General Settings tab

The Fall and Spring End dates determine the Algebra I student enrollment counts. These dates should be close to the end of each term, but not beyond the time when all schools were in session.

  • Check all Algebra I courses selected on the Civil Rights Data Collection page >General Settings tab

To ensure that COUR-4b, COUR-8b, and COUR-9b populate with students who have passed Algebra I, follow these steps at the District Level on the Courses page:

  1. Verify all Algebra I courses selected on the Civil Right Data Collection page > Courses tab have the Meet the Algebra I Requirement (CRS.ALR) option enabled and the Credit Required (CRS.ALC) fields are set.
  2. If the fields are not set, pull up the course, navigate to the Other tab, click Change, and enable the Meets Algebra I Requirement (CRS.ALR) option. Set the Credit Required (CRS.ALC) field to 10.00.
  3. Finally, click Save.

  • Run the Graduation Requirement Report

The Testing Pass Status (TPS) table is used to determine the count of students who have passed Algebra I. To ensure accurate totals, it’s crucial to keep the TPS table up-to-date. If the Algebra I counts appear low, run the Graduation Requirements report at the School level for each secondary school to update the Algebra I pass status fields Algebra I Requirement (TPS.ALG) and Alg I Grade Passed (TPS.AGR)

NOTE: for schools with no Graduation Requirements (REQ) table, often this will be middle schools or K-8 schools, running the Graduation Requirements report will display a message that "No information is available to print". This is correct, the graduation requirements are not set up at the school, but the Algebra I pass status fields Algebra I Requirement  (TPS.ALG) and Alg I Grade Passed (TPS.AGR) fields will still update for students that have met the Algebra I requirements.

  • Process the Civil Rights Data

Click the Process Civil Rights Data. Then verify the COUR-4a, COUR-4b, COUR-8a, COUR-8b, COUR-9a, and COUR-9b counts.
