The California Department of Education has split some Pathways into Sub-Pathways to further delineate the content within a Pathway. 

According to the CALPADS File Specifications document, the max length on the 11.13 field in the SCTE file for the CTE Pathway code is three digits. As a result, students are only reported under the main three digit pathway code and never by the Sub-Pathway. The Career Pathway list in Aeries includes only the three-digit codes, so sub-pathways can’t be selected. 

For example, if a student is concentrating or completing Pathway 111A - Graphic Design, the student is added and reported under Pathway Code 111 - Design, Visual, and Media Arts (in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment sector). This applies to California districts, where the Career Pathways pages are available.
