Teachers use the Grades page in the Teacher Portal to view or update their students’ grade reporting grades. They can access this page by clicking on the Grades node in the navigation. All students currently enrolled will display. During a grading window, a message displays in yellow showing the dates and times that a teacher can post grades, for example “Current Date Range for Grade Posting: 10/01/2026 8:00 AM - 10/15/2026 5:00 PM.” Teachers can enter and change grades only between the start and end date and time. The grading windows are set up by the administrator in Portal Options (Open GRD Grading Windows for Teachers).
Click on the Period dropdown to select a different period. The yellow highlighted column is the marking period for which the teacher can enter grades. Teachers can enter grades by manual entry using the Edit All Records button or mass entry using the Load Grades From Gradebook button on the Grades page. These buttons display only when the teacher can update grades.

Entering Secondary Standards Based Grades using Edit Records
If Secondary Standards Based Grades have been created, then they can be viewed by clicking on the expand (+) sign to the left of the Stu ID. The expand sign displays only when Secondary Standards Based Grades are set up for the school.

To add or edit Secondary Standards Based Grades click on the Edit link below the course title for the student. The Edit link displays only when the teacher can update grades, for example during the grading window.

The secondary standards for this student’s course will open up in an Edit window titled with the student’s name and the course. Click in the Mark field to display a dropdown of the defined marks. The teacher can either select the correct mark from the dropdown or type it in. For standards that use the Check Mark mark type, a checkbox displays instead. As the mark is entered it is saved immediately. Click on the Close button at the bottom of the Edit page to close the page and go back to the Grades page.
Entering Grade Reporting (Course) Grades
Use the Edit All Records button to add or update a current mark for the grading period displayed. The page will change from View only to Edit mode. A drop down listing will display to the right of the Valid Marks, Citizenship, Work Habits and Comment fields (up to three comments). Select the applicable values. If the school allows numeric marks, the mark is entered in a text box instead of a drop-down. Depending on the school’s options, Credit and Absences/Tardies may also be editable.

Any data changes made on the page are effective immediately. When done editing or adding data, click on the Done Editing button to change back to the view only display. If the school requires a Comment, Work Habits, or Citizenship mark, a message displays as a reminder.
In Edit mode, the Mass Add Values button can be used to fill in the same value for all students on the page. It includes Citizenship, Work Habits, and Comments, and Grade Mark if the school allows it. Select Override Existing Values to replace values that are already entered (this does not apply to Comments). If the school uses it, the Mark Page as Complete button can be used to mark grading as complete for the page.
NOTE: Any data changes made on the Grades page or in the standards Edit window will be effective immediately regardless of clicking on the Done Editing or Close buttons. These buttons merely change the page back to view only display.
