Students must follow the course sequence in a pathway. Due to State reporting requirements, LEA's will be unable to pass the validations for certification if students complete the courses out of order.

The Career Pathways Management page displays data related to Career Pathway Codes and provides a quick and easy way to assign students Career Pathway Records and to also mark them as Participants (Introductory), Participants (Level 2) or Participants (Completer). The Career Pathways Management page can be accessed on the Navigation tree under Scheduling Process > Configurations (California districts). Select a pathway from the Select a Career Pathway drop-down; by default it lists only pathways that already have courses linked at your school. To see every pathway, select Show All Available Pathways.

  1. Identify the series of courses that will be offered for the Career Pathway. Aeries sets each course’s level (Introductory, Concentrator or Capstone) from its State Course Code, so make sure the State Course Code is correct. Decide whether the Introductory course is required; if it is, select Require Introductory Course on the Career Pathways Management page.
  2. On the Courses page, enter the State Course Code on the California Specific Fields tab and link the course to its pathway on the Career Pathways tab.
  3. Cross reference the course level and state course code using the Course Group Master Combos page in the CALPADS Valid Code Combinations.
  4. Confirm that each Career Pathway contains state courses that are approved for the Career Pathway.
