Oftentimes, teachers are responsible for multiple sections of the same course. Creating content (assessments and aligned standards) for each of the sections independently would take a lot of time!
The copied items are not tied to each other. This means that changes to an assessment in one class will not be automatically reflected in the other classes. Instead, when edits are made to existing content, JumpRope will look for matching content in other classes. If matches are found, you'll be given the option to choose if these edit should be applied across all matches, only the current item, or selected matches.
You can pick and choose what items you want to copy. This means you could potentially copy a single assessment (great for several weeks into class when you realize you need to add an assessment to 2 of your 3 sections), copy a set of assessments (great for setting up your class in the beginning or adding multiple assessments mid-year), and copy a single or set of standards.
When you copy an assessment, all of its aligned standards will come with it!
Here's a breakdown:
1. In one of your sections, set up your class content: select standards, create standards, create assessments, etc. (If you intend for this content to be available for other teachers be sure to select the appropriate View and Copy option)
2. For each of the other sections, use the Create feature to select Assessments from Bank. Remember, their aligned standards will come with them. You won't have to separately copy the standards.
3. If you need to add a new assessment to all of your sections, create the new assessment in one of the sections and select to copy it to the others as described here. Content in each of your sections are not tied to one another; the content is not shared. (Note: Editing or updating an assessment that you've already copied to each section has to be done individually.)
4. If you've setup to allow other teachers to View and Copy the content, they'll now be able to access what you've created from their own Other Teacher's Classes resource in their banks.
