Overview
This article outlines the steps to configure ClassLink so Parents and Students can SSO into the Aeries Parent/Student portal.

Security is handled by ClassLink
Configurations
Navigate to https://launchpad.classlink.com/login and sign in to your Classlink administrator account. Click on “Classlink Management Console” app. In Classlink Management Console, go to Single Sign On → SAML Console
In Classlink SAML Console, click “Add New”. This will bring up the “Add New Service Provider” page
Name: Name of the Service Provider. Ex: Aeries Parent/Student
Metadata URL: Metadata URL of the Service Provider. This URL should come from Aeries -> SAML Config → Service Provider tab → Metadata URL
Login URL: (optional) Custom login URL. Leave empty for default login URL. If you would like to use a custom URL, then append the path to your portal. Ex: If https://www.myschooldistrict.net/parentportal is the district's complete URL, then only append parentportal to the Login URL.
Icon URL: The URL for the icon of the Service Provider
Metadata Overrides: Select “NameId Value” from the dropdown → Select “OR:userEmail”
Click “Add” to save the changes
In Classlink SAML Console, the newly added Service Provider should display
Click the down arrow next to “Idp Metadata Url” and select “Copy IDP Initiate Login URL“ and save. It will be used in the next step.
In Classlink Management Console, go to Applications → Add & Assign Apps
In Add & Assign Apps, click “Add” to add a new app
Application Name: Name of the application. This name will display to the users. Ex: Aeries Student/Parent Portal
Description: Description of the app
Icon: Icon of the app. This icon will display to the users.
Category: Select Education
Subject: Select Student Information System
Single Sign-On App: Select “Yes”
Type: SAML
Web Address: paste the copied URL from the previous step.
Click “Save” to save the changes
In Add & Assign Apps, the newly added app should display.
In Assign Application window, select “Roster Server” tab
Select “Parent” and “Student” Role from the list
Click “Add Selected”
Parent and Student are now should be able to login into Aeries without the need to enter username/password from Classlink
