Navigate to Portal Management > Portal Options > Grades.
The Grading Snapshots by Classes page is available for teachers to view and edit comments for student records produced by the Manage Grading Snapshots page. In order for teachers to add comments to this page, the Grading Snapshot window must be defined.
An option Open Grading Snapshot Windows for Teachers is available that allows a school to define Start Date and End Date times for updating the Comments field in the Grading Snapshots by Class page. This window only applies to the teacher portal group and when given Update permissions to GSS, allows teachers to add comments to students in their period that have Grading Snapshots available.

Each Snapshot displays automatically based on the settings on the Grading Periods page. For more information on Grading Snapshots, see Grading Snapshots - Overview and Configuration.
For each Grading Snapshot defined, enter the Start Date that is the first date a teacher is allowed to add Comments and the End Date for the last date the teacher is allowed to add Comments to the students listed in their Grading Snapshot by Class page.

With Mass Update permissions, User will have Grading Snapshot by Teacher under Teacher Emulation and can edit the Comment field.
NOTE: The Grading Snapshot Window only applies to Teacher Portal groups. When a user has permission to Grading Snapshots by Teacher page in Teacher Emulation, date ranges do not apply.
