A Concentrator is a student that completes 50% of a Career Pathway. The 50% mark is determined based on the number of years offered within a Career Pathway:

  • Two-year Career Pathways:  The student becomes a Concentrator upon completion of the first-year course, which must be a Concentrator.
  • Three-year Career Pathways:  The student becomes a Concentrator upon completion of the first-year course and when the student is enrolled and completes the second-year course, which must be a Concentrator.
  • Four-year Career Pathways:  The student becomes a Concentrator upon completion of the first-year course, the second-year course, and when the student is enrolled and completes the third-year course, which must be a Concentrator.

A Completer is a student that completes all series of courses within the Career Pathway. However, the student MUST have a “C-“  or better in the Completer (Capstone) course. Valid Mark validation is allowed with Capstone courses. Students who earn a 'D' in a level 3 course one term, but then at least a 'B' in another term, will average at least a 2.00 GPA. This student would still qualify since the minimum GPA requirement within this course has been met.

Students must follow the course sequence in a pathway. Due to State reporting requirements, LEA's will be unable to pass the validations for certification if students complete the courses out of order.
