Login Page

Once the Enabled for Teacher/Admin Accounts option is saved on the Identity Provider Configuration screen, the Aeries login page will display a Sign in with Google bar.

Clicking either the Sign in with Aeries or Sign in with Google bars will toggle the login page between the two types of authentication.

Users that authenticate into the system with a regular Aeries username and password will use the Sign in with Aeries mode to log into Aeries.

Users that will authenticate into the system with a Google account will click on the Sign In with Google bar to switch to the Sign In with Google log in mode. The Sign In with Google form does not have a password field since authentication will be controlled through Google.

Upon clicking Sign In, the account will be authenticated. If authentication is successful, the user will be logged into Aeries if they only have access to one school, or a list of schools will be available to select from if they have access to several schools.

The first time a Google account authenticates into Aeries, the user needs to go through a few extra steps to authenticate through Google.

After clicking Sign In, a window will display asking the user to sign into their Google account. Click the Next button. The user will then enter their Google password and click the Next button.

Last, a window will display asking for access. Select Accept.

If the user account has access to several schools, a list of schools will be available to choose from. If the user has access to only one school, then they will be logged into Aeries immediately.

NOTE: Users with Google accounts can exit Aeries by selecting Log Out, but this will not exit them from their Google account log in. If the user leaves their computer unattended while still logged into their Google account they could allow unauthorized access into the Aeries system. Please ensure that users who log into Aeries through an identity provider know what steps to take to keep their Aeries login secure.

Change Password

The Change Password feature has been disabled for users that log into Aeries with Google authentication. Their password must be changed through Google, not within the Aeries system.
