What Do GBSinit, GBVauto, and GBUauto Entries in the LOG Table Mean?
System-generated entries — not manual edits by teachers or users. Each code represents an automated process:
- GBSinit — Gradebook Scores Record Created. Placeholder GBS row added when the score loader detects a missing record for a student-assignment pair. Upstream causes include adding a student to a gradebook or creating a new assignment.
- GBVauto — Gradebook Term Student System Data Adjustment. Term-grade record created or updated when the system recalculates a student's overall gradebook score and either no record exists yet or the stored value differs from the calculated value. Occurs during gradebook page loads such as Scores by Class or Scores by Student.
- GBUauto — Gradebook Student System Data Adjustment. Overall gradebook score on the enrollment record updated as a downstream effect of a GBVauto — when the recalculated term score changes and the term is current.
