New Features

  • Multi Print Button - The button was added systemwide to the header of certain pages that have multiple print options available (e.g., Demographics). The page reports will appear in a print dropdown menu under the Print icon. 
  • Foster Details - The page was added for all districts. See Foster Details.   This page can be used to store additional Foster data and it is not used for any state reporting at this time.
  • Classroom Attendance - The page now supports Primary and Secondary ADA Times as defined on the School Options and Calendar pages for schools utilizing Attendance Time for All Day Attendance Management on School Options.
    • When attendance is taken for students in a period that meets during the Primary ADA Time, the All-Day Code is updated automatically.
    • When a Secondary ADA Time is defined, students who do not have a class during the Primary ADA Time on a day will have their All-Day Code updated when attendance is taken during the class that meets during the Secondary ADA Time.
    • Using a tardy code in a period during an ADA Time will clear an All-Day absence code. 
  • Classroom Attendance and Teacher Attendance - Non-absence codes are no longer placed in the All-Day Code for periods meeting during the ADA Times defined on the School Options or Calendar page for schools utilizing Attendance Time for All Day Attendance Management on School Options. Only absence codes will be pushed to the All-Day Code. Activity and Tardy codes will clear the All-Day Code (i.e., Present); in Positive Attendance schools the Present code will be placed in the All-Day Code; in Negative Attendance schools the All-Day Code will be blank.
  • Portal Options - The time range defined for the Primary ADA Time was replaced with the Minutes before and Minutes after the ADA Time, allowing for dynamic Primary ADA Times as defined in the Calendar. This update will automatically populate Minutes before and Minutes after based on the existing Primary ADA Time on School Options and the ADA time range options defined on Portal Options.

  • District GPA - Configured GPAs for schools and cohorts can now be tagged as the primary GPA to be displayed in the student's transcript. See GPA Configurations Page
  • Attendance Calendar - The report now displays Bell Schedule data for a given day for Flex Scheduling schools. See Flex Scheduling Reports.
  • Section Totals from CAR Report - The report was renamed to Classes and Days With N or More Students and now supports Section Staff and Flex Scheduling.
  • Daily Present by Section Report
    • The report now supports Section Staff and Flex Scheduling.
    • The Limit by option was replaced with the new section selection, and the report can always be sorted by Teacher, Course Title, Subject Area, Department Code or Program.
  • Daily Enrollment by Section Report 
    • The report now supports Section Staff and Flex Scheduling.
    • The Limit by option was replaced with the new section selection, and the report can always be sorted by Teacher, Course Title, Subject Area, Department Code or Program.
  • Students With Excused Absences Report - The report now supports Flex Scheduling.
  • Absence Verification Letter Report - The report now supports Section Staff and Flex Scheduling. See Absence Verification Letter.
  • Students With Consecutive Absences Report - The report was updated to properly tally period absences using CAT data for Flex Scheduling schools.
  • Transcripts - The Subject Area Override field was added. If populated, it will act as the primary subject area for that transcript record when processing Graduation Requirements Status.

  • Transcript Definitions - The Print Which Term GPA now displays only active built-in GPAs. An Applicable Primary District GPA option will be included when at least one District GPA is defined for the school. See Transcript Design Options - Enhanced (1-Column) Style
  • Courses

    • Two additional Subject Area fields were added for use when processing Graduation Requirements Status. 

    • The table overlay is now available. See Tables and Fields Icon
  • Graduation Requirements - The No Max Credits option was added for subject areas to allow Credits Completed to be greater than Credits Required.
  • Bell Scheduler - The table overlay is now available.  See https://support.aeries.com/support/solutions/articles/14000082581-tables-and-fields-icon
  • District Attendance Letters - The letters can now be sent via ParentSquare if enabled and set up at the district. When using this feature, the generated PDF file will be uploaded to ParentSquare, and a message including a link to the file will be sent to the parents, instead of being sent via email.
  • Teacher Attendance - The new Minutes before and Minutes after fields on Portal Option are now supported.
  • Gradebook - Students who are in sections that the current teacher is not assigned to are no longer displayed when multiple sections are associated with the gradebook. 
  • Aeries Teacher App - The new Primary and Secondary ADA Time definitions are now supported.
  • Aeries Mobile API (Teacher App)
    • The new Primary and Secondary ADA Time definitions are now supported. 
    • The Portal Option for ADA minutes is now supported.
  • Aeries Mobile Portal Grades 
    • (Android) The view was updated to support the Aeries Portal option to disable the 'What If' feature.
    • (iOS) The view was updated to support the Aeries Portal option to disable the 'What If' feature.
  • Aeries API V5
    • The System Info endpoint was added which will return information such as the Aeries version, the current server time, and the database year to which the API is connecting. 
    • New endpoints were added for Activities and Awards (ACT). 
    • A new extended property was added to the Programs API for Residence Status for Special Education students. 
    • A new extended property was added to the Programs API for Migrant ID for Migrant Education students. 
    • Birth Date Verification Method was added to the Student Extended API. 
    • The CAL.SY column is now updated with 'Teacher App' when marking attendance for a flex school in the app.
  • Ed-Fi 3.x - The following entities were implemented:
    • Sessions
    • Courses 
    • Course Offerings 
    • Sections 

Issues Resolved

  • Mass Change Period Absences
    • In Flex Scheduling schools when only updating attendance notes the attendance list was not populating, fixed. 
    • The process was not updating records for Flex Scheduling schools, fixed. 
  • Mass Change ATT Codes
    • The process was not updating records in Flex Scheduling schools, fixed. 
    • The View Detail Report did not display correctly, fixed. 
  • Attendance Mass Change Functions
    • When the update is started an alert box with the message "This process may take some time to complete. You will receive an email when it has completed. You can stay on the page or navigate away" is now displayed. 
    • The progress bar could not be closed, fixed. 
    • In some cases the processing was very slow, fixed. 
  • Academic Plan - The multi-year button was displayed when switching between views even when it was turned off in Portal Options, fixed. 
  • Course Attendance - The period start and end time columns have been added for Flex Scheduling schools. The sort order was also adjusted, fixed.
  • Classroom Attendance - For Flex Scheduling schools, the Staff Search was limited to teachers currently teaching classes, fixed. Selection of previous staff is now allowed.
  • Teacher Student Search - Expired student groups were still accessible to teachers, fixed. 
  • Grade Report Mark Listing by Student Report - When printed for an individual mark and the grade was A+, the Credit Completed displayed as 0.0, fixed.
  • Class Rosters Report
    • When printed for one future date with additional fields selected for printing, the current date printed instead of the future date, fixed.
    • The report produced an error in certain multi-track schools when run for one day, fixed.
  • Standards Based Report Cards 
    • The single-column portrait report did not hide the top section of the report card consistent with the related setting, fixed. 
    • In some cases the comment section was out of order, fixed. 
    • In some cases the report printed all terms even when only a few were selected, fixed. 
    • The term headers are now repeated on each page. 
  • Transcript Indicator Definitions - The Greater Than and Less Than numeric operations are now supported, and only uppercase user codes are allowed. 
  • Morgan Hart Class Size Reduction Summary - The report was disabled for Flex Scheduling and Section Staff schools. A button was added to redirect users to the Daily Enrollment by Section Report to obtain the same information. 
  • Weekly Instructional Minutes - For California users, the page did not display sections with attendance permission in the Section Staff table set to blank, fixed. 
  • CDD-801a Extract (California) - Family Income values were not calculating correctly when extracting for certain dates, fixed.
  • EEDS 9600 Report (California) - The report showed the last sibling's school name rather than the current student's logged in school name, fixed.
  • Texas State Reporting (ECDS) - The HOME-ROOM-INDICATOR (E1440) element was not included in the InterchangeStudentEnrollmentExtension within the StudentSectionAssociation, fixed.
  • Admin - When using multiple tabs and editing custom text, the text would save to the last language set, fixed. 
  • Email Functions - Additional exception handling was added. 
  • Aeries Mobile API - Assignments from future gradebooks were incorrectly displayed in the Upcoming Assignments view on the home screen, fixed. 
  • Ed-Fi 2.x - The Sessions entity did not properly handle elementary schools using master schedule, fixed. 

California Specific

  • CALPADS Extracts - The SINF extract was adjusted to properly process the students when Extract SINF for All Students is selected. In this case, students with address or demographic changes will also be included in the extract and the Effective Date will be the student's enrollment date. 

Texas Specific

  • Transcripts

    • The Articulation field (HIS.AC) was added to the Course History section. This field will copied from from the Master Schedule section record during the Copy Grades To Transcript process. 

    • Term GPAs for student transcripts now support computing the GPAs of applicable primary district GPAs. See Transcript Design Options - Enhanced (1-Column) Style

  • Student Attendance Detail Report, Campus Summary Report, and District Summary Report - The reports now utilize the Remote Asynchronous Present code defined on the Attendance History Config page as an additional method of determining RA for a given day. Previously these reports relied exclusively on the RA and RS programs in School Program (SPR) or Student Program (PGM) tables.
  • Attendance History Config - The Remote Synchronous Present code was removed because it was never used in calculations; Remote Synchronous Present is either blank or the regular Present code, so a special code is not needed.
  • Texas State Reporting
    • The PEIMS Student Attendance interchange file now honors changes made regarding the Remote Asynchronous Present code on the Attendance History Config page.
    • The PEIMS Student Attendance interchange was added for Submission 4. 
    • The Charter School Waitlist submission now supports the TX-CharterWaitListIndicator for individual students.

Database Changes

  • Courses (CRS) - The Subject Area 4 (S4) and Subject Area 5 (S5) fields were added. 

  • District GPA Schools and Cohorts (DGS) - The Primary District DGS (PG) field was added.
  • Course History (HIS)

    • The Subject Area Override (SA) field was added. 

    • The Articulated Course (AC) field was added for use in Texas. 

  • Portal Options (POP) - This update will automatically populate new Number of minutes before and after the ADA Time records based on the existing Primary ADA Time in School Options, and the ADA time range options on Portal Options.
  • Graduation Requirements (REQ) - The No Max Credits (NMC) field was added. 



I'm slightly confused about the reference to a page called Document Uploads.  There is no such page.  The only place I've been able to find where specific file extensions is for the Student Backpack and the Briefcase on Portal Options / Gradebook.  Is there another area?

I'm sorry for the confusion. The Document Uploads shouldn't be in this revision note. It's part of the Online Enrollment update. Thank you for pointing it out. Have a wonderful day.
