New Features

  • Transcript Definition - The Allow Parents/Students to Print option was added to allow parents and students to print specific transcript versions. This option requires that the Parent and Student Portal Groups have specific permission set to be able to Print Transcripts. See Transcript Definition Form.
  • Split Sections by Cohort - The page was added to allow users to duplicate sections and move students based on defined student cohorts. The cohorts can be defined by any STU, SUP, or SSD field, and new sections created based on select values in those fields. The new sections can have a defined Class Calendar based on each select value, and can have the Class ID populated with the original Section Number for use in Aeries APIs. Section(s) to Exclude from the process can also be defined. 
  • District Settings - The Enable the new Parent Portal option was added to allow a district to choose how the newly design Parent Portal will be made available to their parents and students. The choices are Opt-In and Always. See District Settings (District Rules). 
  • School Settings - The Populate All-Day Attendance Code Automatically option was added for Class Attendance in Flex Scheduling schools, and is now honored on the Attendance page.
  • School Options - The Do Not Recompute GPAs Automatically option was added to the district-level page. Various pages and reports were adjusted to support this option.
  • SMS Board - The Use Staff-Section Association instead of Teacher Numbers(TN) with SMS sections option from the Scheduling Setup page in Section Staff schools is now supported.
  • OneRoster Configuration - The Combine Sections Based on Matching Class IDs option was added for the CSV extract. Enabling this option allows multiple class sections (MST) to be treated as the same section (e.g., for student cohorts). The sections must have the same Class ID, and the Class ID must be equal to the section number of one of the sections. 
  • API Security
    • The Options button was added to allow options to be set for each third-party product. See API Security Page
    • The Combine Sections Based on Matching Class IDs option was added. Enabling this option will allow multiple class sections (MST) to be treated as the same section (e.g., for student cohorts). The sections must have the same Class ID, and the Class ID must be equal to one of the section numbers being combined. This option can be set individually per third-party product and affects both the Aeries API and the OneRoster API. See API Security Page
  • Aeries API - All endpoints related to Scheduling and Gradebook now honor the Combine Sections Based on Matching Class IDs option. 
  • OneRoster API - All endpoints related to Scheduling and Gradebook (e.g., Classes, Enrollments, LineItems) now honor the Combine Sections Based on Matching Class IDs option. 
  • OneRoster Extract - The classes, enrollments, and lineItems files now honor the Combine Sections Based on Matching Class IDs option. 
  • Aeries Teachers API - Class Calendar was added to the teacher information endpoint. 
  • Aeries Mobile API - Modifications were made to support the upcoming Class Roster feature in Aeries Teacher App.

Issues Resolved

  • OneRoster API - The Get Categories endpoint was not returning all classes  associated with a gradebook in the metadata of the payload when searching for a specific class, fixed. 
  • Avery 5160 Labels Report - The Return Address Labels option printed 11 rows on a page instead of 10, fixed. 
  • Staff Assets - At the district level, the staff filter did not filter staff from other schools except school 0, fixed. 
  • Student At-Risk Indicators 
    • When editing an indicator at the bottom of a large list (not visible without scrolling down), the editing pop-up window opened at the bottom, requiring the user to scroll down again, fixed. 
    • The vertical height of the editing pop-up window needed adjustment for better display, fixed. 
  • Transcripts - 1 Column - If a course was not assigned a department code, the department code from another record printed, fixed. 
  • Grading Period Configs - The weighted Grading Period was not accepting a decimal, fixed. 
  • Student Data Audit Report - For Texas users, the word "CALPADS" was included in the report title, fixed. 
  • Texas State Reporting 
    • The RF Tracker StudentEnrollment and StudentParent interchanges did not extract the correct students, fixed. 
    • For the RF Tracker collection, various corrections were made to conform to complex type definitions. 
    • PEIMS Student Enrollment extracts would only output a TX-DateOfGraduation for student's with a leave date, fixed. 
    • In the PEIMS Fall Student extension, the TX-ImmigrantIndicator and TX-GenerationCode data elements were being incorrectly set, fixed.
    • Interventions were not being limited to those active on the fall snapshot date, fixed.
    • Students were being reported as being in their current school as of the extract date rather than the school they were active in on the fall snapshot date, fixed.
    • In the PEIMS Fall Staff Association Extension, the TX-NumberMinutesTaughtWeek[1-4] and  TX-NumberDaysTaughtWeek[1-4] data elements were sometimes being incorrectly calculated, fixed.
  • Weekly Engagement Report (California) - The report failed occasionally when encountering invalid ATN records, fixed. 
  • Weekly Instructional Minutes Certification (California)
    • The Staff drop-down list displayed inactive staff, fixed. 
    • Class data for classes that did not meet and could not be certified was displayed, fixed. 
    • Staff information was not displayed in the drop-down list when the current school's name contained an apostrophe, fixed. 
    • Section data was not displayed for sections whose CAR and MST Start and End Date Range started before the selected start date and ended before the selected end date, fixed. 
  • Instructional Minutes Certification Management 
    • Inappropriate sections were being included as missing certification, fixed.
  • Test Settings - For California users, the NEDS_Masking was incorrectly added to the CAASPP tab, fixed. It was moved to the ELPAC tab and the STS code was updated. Any students already coded with this support should be reviewed and given the correct ELPAC NEDS_Masking code. See: Overview For Test Settings
  • SchoolOfChoiceAddStudent.aspx - This page was not displaying in the new parent portal, fixed. 
  • Aeries Master Schedule API - The Class Calendar was not returned for schools using Class Calendar for the Weekly Instructions Minutes Certification but not doing Flex Scheduling, fixed. 
  • Street Addresses - All newly entered street addresses in the system will be uniformly title cased. 
  • TREx Export (Texas) - Current coursework was not extracting for student's who had already exited, fixed. OnRamps was extracting for students where the OnRamps field CRS.OD was N, fixed. Withdraw Reason was defaulting to 01 rather than 98, fixed. 
  • District GPA (Texas)
    • There were issues with gpa calculation using the same credits between weighted and non-weighted calculation, fixed. And the logic has been added to skip calculating courses with a mark that is flagged as excluded in DGG.XG.
    • Course selection types involving the "IN" comparison operator were not properly selecting courses, fixed.
    • GPAs were not being calculated properly for courses given an excluded mark, fixed. 
    • Unnecessary GPA configurations were being calculated for students, fixed. 

California Specific

  • CALPADS Extracts - The SPRG and SINF extracts now handle students switching between a "real" (on site) school and a "virtual" (distance/remote learning) school. This allows for the use of the 440 Exit Reason and the Home School field, which should match the "real" school code. 
  • Instructional Minutes Certification Management 
    • A multi-teacher select option was added for elementary schools. 
    • The Certification column was widened. 
    • Section information is now displayed for schools with master schedule doing daily attendance. 
  • Instructional Minutes Certification Management Log Report - The report was added to Aeries Report options. Previously, it was only available from the Instructional Minutes Certification Management page. See Weekly Instructional Minutes Certification (SB-98)
  • Master Schedule - The Class Calendar pop-up window now has the ability to display Instructional Mode information. See Class Calendars - Tracking Instructional Modes (SB-98)
  • Teachers - The Class Calendar pop-up window now has the ability to display Instructional Mode information. See: Class Calendars - Tracking Instructional Modes (SB-98)
  • State Testing Export Files - The CAASPP and ELPAC Test Settings and Extracts were updated for the 2020-2021 testing administration.  See: State Testing Export Files
  • Teacher Attendance - This page now honors the Portal options for remote day back posting and future posting for elementary schools with class calendars. See Portal Options - Attendance
  • Missing Distance Learning Attendance Information Report - The report was added to display students per class and day who are missing Attendance Codes or Attendance Notes related to distance learning on remote learning days. See Tracking Student Engagement and Participation (SB-98)
  • Reports - The Hybrid Instructional Category was removed, and all reports in this category were added to Attendance reports. 

Texas Specific

  • Teacher Attendance - The ability to sort the Instr Mod column was added. 
  • Assertive Discipline - The Action Inconsistent With Code of Conduct Policy (DSP.IC) field was added to the Administrative Decisions (Dispositions) section. 
  • Assertive Discipline Record Report - The Consistency field was added which displays any value entered in the Action Inconsistent With Code of Conduct Policy (DSP.IC) field. 
  • Import Test Results
  • Test Details - The results of the STAAR Grades 3-8 and STAAR Alternate 2 Grades 3-8 tests are now displayed.  
  • Attendance Reporting Periods - The organization and work-flow of the page was improved for multi-track schools.
  • Student Attendance Detail Report

    • The report had the potential to not include all Programs when multiple similar programs exist with the same start and end dates, fixed. This had the potential to cause Career and Technical Education (CTE) records to only show V1 even if a student had multiple courses during the same time frame. Now the report will summarize CTE records that occur on the same dates and print the combined CTE Hours Code. For example, a student taking three V1 courses during the same dates will now have a record that says V3 in the Programs section (rather than three V1 records. Note that this only occurs if the dates are the same for multiple records; otherwise each record prints individually.

    • The Current Programs section did not print the CTE code based on all CTE courses occurring on the last day of the reporting period, fixed. Now if a student leaves a program before the last day of the reporting period, the Current Programs section will be blank for that program, rather than displaying the last value before leaving. 

    • Added an "as of" date in the Current Programs heading to clarify the data being displayed.

  • Student Attendance Detail and Summary reports - The CTE FTE calculations on these reports have been modified. Additionally, ADA calculations have been modified to not include students who are not in Membership. 

Database Changes

  • Third Party Options (TPO) - The TPO table was added for third-party vendors for use with Aeries APIs.
  • Transcript Definitions (TDF) - The Allow Parents and Student to Print Transcripts (T71) option was added.
  • Assertive Discipline Administrative Decision (DSP) - The Action-Inconsistent Code Indicator (IC) field was added for use in Texas.
  • District GPA Grade Points (DGG) - The Do Not Include in GPA (XG) field was added.
