Overview
When a desired class has no available seats, students can be placed on a waiting list for that full class in either the Master Schedule or the Scheduling Master Schedule. Any student placed on a Master Schedule wait list will be added to the Active Wait List (AWL) table and any student placed on a Scheduling Master Schedule waiting list will be added to the Scheduling Wait List (SWL) table. Wait List counts can be viewed using the View MST or the View SMS popups, if the wait list option has been activated in Scheduling Setup and appropriate permissions have been granted to the user.

Configurations ↑
To activate the Wait List, select the following options on the Scheduling Setup page: Allow Wait Lists for Master Schedule Sections and/or Allow Wait Lists for Scheduling Master Schedule Sections. The Wait Lists are available for traditional schools and Flex schools.
When either waiting list option is selected, a third option becomes visible. This additional option, when selected, will remove the student from the waiting list of a particular section when that student is assigned to any section of that same course.
View the Active Wait List ↑
A table will appear below the student's current Class Schedule (the Classes page) if the student is currently on the Active Wait List list for a course.
Manage the Active Wait List ↑
To view the number of students on the Active Wait List for a particular section, begin by selecting the Edit button on a student's Class Schedule.
Select the View MST button while editing the student's Class Schedule.
On the View MST popup, the Wait column displays the number of students on the Wait List:
When working with active student classes (Master Schedule), selecting the green Plus icon on a row on the View MST popup for a section that has no available seats will result in the following message.
Selecting Add To Wait List will add the current student to the Wait List for the selected full section and the wait list information will become visible on the student's Class Schedule page as depicted earlier. Selecting OK will ignore the available number of seats and place the student in the class regardless of available seats. Selecting Cancel will cancel the section add operation.
Scheduling Wait List ↑
A table will appear below the student's Course Requests, if the student is currently on the Scheduling Wait List list for a course.
To view the number of students on the Scheduling Wait List for a particular section, begin by selecting the View SMS button on a student's Course Requests form.
The View SMS popup is displayed. The Wait column contains the number of students currently on the Wait List for a particular section.
Adding a full section to a student's course requests will result in the following message.
Selecting Add To Wait List will add the current student to the Wait List for the selected full section and the wait list information will become visible on the student's Course Requests form as depicted earlier. Selecting OK will ignore the available number of seats and place the student in the class regardless of available seats. Selecting Cancel will cancel the section add operation.
The Wait List can also be viewed/changed from Scheduling Master page for a particular section.
Selecting the Add Student to Wait List button allows you to search for a student and add them directly to the current section's Wait List.
If you know the student's ID number, enter it in the search box, then select OK. Otherwise select the Search icon, and search for the student by name, student number, or student ID. Once selected, close the window and select OK. The student will be added to the bottom of the list.
The date and time a student was added to the Wait List for a particular section is available in the far right column of the display. The Priority Order for the currently selected section can be adjusted by selecting the Change Priority Order button.
The order can be changed by selecting the arrows shown below and performing a drag-and-drop for each record as desired.
