Parent Data Confirmation Issues with Linked Contacts

Is anyone else having an issue?

We have parents who have linked phone numbers what are linked in the contact screen. When they do an update, it does not reflect the new number on Demographics, it does reflect it in Contacts.

Also, if the contacts are NOT linked, they can update in contacts but it does not show on demographics.

I did a test, and here's what I found out.

The Primary Contact fields on the Demographics page MUST be each linked to specific contact's number field in order for parent changes to flow from the Parent Portal. Once they are linked, when the parent goes into the portal, clicks on Data Confirmation and changes that contact's number, the fields in both the contact screen, and what is displayed on the demographics page will be updated.

If yours is not, it may be a permissions issue for the Portal Group - Parent.

We are experiencing similar issues as we roll out the first use of he online parent data verification. My grasp is that the linkage between the Contacts and the Primary, Primary Contact 1, and Primary Contact 2 fields all need to be managed on a case by case basis for EACH student's account. This is impractical. Although "nice" that Aeries offers the option to have these linked contacts appearing on the cover pages for a student, I think we are going to move completely away from using them as it's not feasible to set them for each and every family manually - especially when there is no way for the parents to link them during data confirmation that I am aware of.

we have students where one parent does the confirmation and the other did not, on the Data Confirmation Status report the student shows up. Does everyone that is linked have to do data Confirmation?

Hmm, I wonder if the linkage is not honoring the DEL tag?

We experienced this same issue but the parent actually deleted the contact record during data confirmation and the previously linked number remained in Demographics.

Wow, I thought that was the purpose of linking them to the actual contact records. I'll have to test that out.
